What the hell is up with that “Not Sherlock” garbage?

Don’t use the Elementary tag, asshole.

Well the universe didn’t end so….

And just what the fuck does that mean? Don’t trail off. Finish your goddamn comment. So what? So everything is okay? If the universe doesn’t end then that means no one has done anything wrong? Am I supposed to wait for the scene to cut to a clip of the sun exploding?

The fucking comment is fairly understandable. Not even open to interpretation. Yeah fucking everything is OK. You’re breathing, the sky is blue, and the sun is still shining.

You good now?

What country are you from?

I gave the first episodes of both BBC Sherlock and Elementary a chance last night, having never seen either of them.

vickytorious:

I wanted so much to like Elementary, because I like Lucy Liu, but Sherlock wins. Sherlock wins by so much.

I literally hated Benedict Cumberbatch’s face with extreme prejudice before watching, and now I have completely forgotten why.

The binge-watching will commence after I get off of work today.

You got sucked in by Sherlock’s shininess. A shame you couldn’t enjoy both but I suppose you enjoy something a bit more bombastic.

hellomorning18:

So I attempted to watch Elementary thinking I’d get a good laugh out of it, but got 15 minutes into the first episode and decided I couldn’t handle how shitty it was anymore

Ughhh. Get this shit out of the tag. Who the hell asked you?

Sexual Tension Between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson – How To Remove It?

ilvanya-ilqua:

It’s rather elementary, really:

Step 1: Make Watson female.

Step 2: Keep Holmes male.

This post comes off a tad dickish. Was that the intention?

It never has.

what i see here:

  • i don’t understand how institutional oppression works
  • i am privileged
  • i am a pissbaby

What I see here:
"I am privileged because of my sexuality and identification. I am allowed to hate." is much different from "I am privileged because I am straight and cis. I am allowed to hate."

When cishet people hate queer people, queer people suffer and die.

When white people hate black people or people of color, POC suffer and die.

When men hate women, women suffer and die.

There is a difference between institutionalized oppression and aggravated words. Learn it.

Yes, so the key is to fight fire with fire, right? Especially through hostile comments on social media such as Tumblr. Those usually have a massive effect on institutionalized perspectives.
This post isn’t about institutionalized anything. It’s reaching out to artistic young people (the main demographic of Tumblr) and making a plea against ANY kind of hate. You want to reach lawmakers and executives? Go petition, or protest, or email your representative, or host a sit-in, or spread word of stories like Lilly Ledbetter’s, or enact any of the other countless freedoms we’re given for the sole purpose of normal people changing the country. Make a difference instead of spewing derogatory terms, like the ever-so-eloquent “pissbaby” you seem to have a fetish for, on social media.

HEY GUESS WHAT

I get aggravated sometimes, right? And maybe my entire life isn’t about social justice. Maybe I get sad and angry at cis people who hurt me, and I say “I HATE CIS PEOPLE”.

We have feelings. We often aren’t allowed to express them externally because people like you react like that.

Fuck you if you think I should have to censor myself and my feelings to appeal to my oppressors. In instances where I’m trying to actually prove a point, I will. But when I’m sitting around at home feeling angry? I’m gonna be angry.

This post is implying (I think) that when we make posts like “Ugh str8 ppl……..” we’re trying to dismantle heterosexism and oppression. Newsflash: we aren’t. So stop pretending that we think hate ends hate; it doesn’t. But venting is healthy and necessary, so fuck off and let us have ONE space in which to do it.

I just want to note, too, that fighting fire with fire is an actual, real thing people do that is useful.

Guess you found the shit you were searching for. Feeling better?
